				Burning Oil

Just recently started to burn oil. 150k stock. Has been running well but burning like a quart every 100 miles. Checked compression and is all near 140s. No oil in the intake tract. Where is the most likely problem? No codes. Runs fine.
Is it the valve stem seals or the piston oil rings?
How do you check and tell the difference?

Do you see smoke behind you at all? That is quite a bit of oil.

Yeah, lots of black smoke on accelerating.

Grey/blue smoke = oil. Piston rings, valve stem seals or CCV system
Black smoke = too much fuel. Stuck injector, faulty O2, failed FPR.

Grey/blue vs Black. I will have to watch closer. It's definitely not black like a diesel.
I don't get any engine codes. If it was fuel and rich, I would think that I would get an engine light. My mileage hasn't dropped.
I will look/watch closer and try to see if it is more grey/blue or black.
I guess I could also disconnect or plug the CCV hoses to make sure they aren't the problem but I don't get any oil in the air filter box or in the catch can.

Ordered some valve stem seals and bought a spring compressor and leak down tester to do the job. Hopefully this will fix the problem.
