What valve springs for CC 68-231-4

Post by Jonrodrigue57 »

Hey everyone,

Pretty new to strokers and would really appreciate some advice. Most of the forums related to this are old and about 10-15 years old, at least what I could find. I have a 4.6 stroker and put a Compcams 68-231-4 in and heard that I can’t use Melling valve springs (what I put in). I haven’t tried starting it yet and wanted to verify everything.

It looks like I need Mopar valve springs part 5249464 but can’t find them anywhere! I’m looking a not machining again, are there any modern valve springs that are recommended that I can just put in? Thanks so much!!

I have a drop in valve spring if you’re willing to upgrade to a LS Valve.

just under 100 on the seat and around 270 @ .500 lift it can easily go to .550 without any coil bind concerns. Not a cam lobe killing spring

Currently the kit with stainless steel valves, chrome molly retainers springs and locks we’re at $480.00

Don’t hesitate to reach out to me with this or any of my other products or services

God bless,
